About

Together with my partner Alan, I love getting outside exploring the coast, forests and mountains of north east New South Wales.  We hope you find the information we share on coffstrails.com useful for planning your own adventures!

My first guide book of 40 walks on the coast from Port Macquarie to the Clarence Valley was published in October 2022.  A second guide book on 4WD treks in north east NSW will be in shops late August 2023.

I also publish freelance articles about hiking, 4wd treks or motorcycle adventures in magazines and on blogs, you might have seen my work in Great Walks, Traverse or other publications.

If you’d like to get in touch, please contact me here.

This website is a labour of time and love, but hosting it requires cold hard cash. If you would like to support the website, I’d appreciate a coffee!

We have walked, driven or ridden all trails on this website. All GPX tracks, writing and photos are my own.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land that we live and walk on, the Gumbaynggirr people, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. The First Nations of Australia have been walking on and caring for Country for thousands of years.

Discover your next adventure

Explore our trails on the beaches and mountains, parks and forests from Port Macquarie to the Coffs Coast and beyond.

Get outside on a fun self-guided walk with your children, a dog walk, or a cafe walk with your friends. Challenge your fitness with a big hill climb or multi-day hike. Go for a 4WD tour or an adventure motorcycle ride. We encourage you to walk softly, ride carefully, and leave no trace.

Please read these first, before accessing trail information or downloading GPX data from Coffs Trails:

Walking groups on the Coffs Coast

If you don’t want to walk alone, and are searching for a walking group or bushwalking club to join on the Coffs Coast, try our local group Coffs Hikers.

Coffs Hikers have a vibrant program of regular day walks, overnight walks and campouts. New members are welcome. Coffs Hikers are an incorporated not for profit association, affiliated with and insured through Bushwalking NSW
