Plateau Beech Walking Track

A cool retreat in Gondwana rainforest, with two small waterfalls

Trail information

Plateau Beech Walking Track

This delightful walk in cool temperate rainforest visits King Fern Falls and Filmy Fern Cascades.

After having walked to Spokes Lookout earlier in the day, on the Scrub Bird walk through forests burnt in the 2019 fires, it was a relief to explore this glorious and unburnt rainforest. The two small waterfalls were flowing strongly, and bridges across the creek meant no wet feet. The track is soft underfoot, the gradient easy and the path is beautifully made and edged with a little rock wall all covered in moss, lichens and fungi.
