A family-friendly ride on cycleways along the Nambucca River, with great street art and coffee in Macksville

Trail information

Nambucca to Macksville Cycleway

A family-friendly mostly flat route on cycleways and quiet backroads alongside the Nambucca River to Macksville. Enjoy a coffee at the cafe in Macksville, and admire the street art by local artists including Felice Ferrer-Burton in Wallace Lane. Look for the tribute to cricketer Phil Hughes.

The route crosses a few creeks on some nice cycle bridges, and there is a crossing of the old bridge at Macksville on a separated shared path. The Watt Creek Cycleway section of this ride opened in late 2023. Keen riders wanting more distance can extend this route to Gumma, otherwise return to the start the same way.

Keen mountain bikers might like to make a detour on Florence Wilmont Drive to play at the popular Jacks Ridge Mountain Bike park.
