The 4WD trail is very steep, so we chose to climb the mountain bike trail which winds up the hillside. Keep your eyes and ears open for bikers if you choose this option. Otherwise, its a pleasant forest circuit to Little Boambee, with views over the farmland towards the sea.

Just did this walk this morning and saw one other family out doing it.
Awesome map and your explanation was good- just enough to still make it an adventure and no signage on the track which was extra wild as well yahoo thanks so much for writing about the trail!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Jemma! I try to leave some things up to you to discover with “just enough” explanation, don’t want to spoil your fun!
